We Help Albiina, Miikael And Brandon-Daniel – 3 827€

The article published by Õhtuleht on the 29th of October about little Miikael, made the Children’s Fund board decide very quickly that they have to start supporting this child. Miikael’s treating physician Kairit Joost in turn introduced Albiinas physician, Mari-Liis Uuudelep to the Children’s fund. Albiina was diagnosed on February this year with a rare metabolic disease. This little girl who is from Tartu has a certain type of disorder concerning fatty acids in her body, which is why the fatty acids accumulate in various organs disrupting their work over time and there is a constant risk of life-threatening metabolic events, because there is no way to produce the necessary spare energy from fatty acids. This disease has been diagnosed in Estonia in the past, but unfortunately the life of the children diagnosed with this disease could not be saved.
